What We Did

Much like any other roof cleaning project, we started by removing moss using a specialised scraping tool. This allows any debris to be cleared to prepare the roof for deep cleaning; in this instance, we used our usual soft washing technique.

Soft washing is the most effective method of cleaning roofs as it is far gentler, reducing the risk of shingle or material damage. It involves using a low-pressure machine to apply a cleaning solution designed to break down lichen and any other contaminants. 

Throughout this project, we used a cherry picker to access the roof and blocked off the area, allowing machinery to be manoeuvred safely. Luckily, our client’s property was at the end of the street, so there was plenty of space to do this without disturbing neighbours or pedestrians. We also ensured that all debris was cleared immediately to prevent hazards or any damage to the neighbouring property.
